Did the horseback riding in Ocho several years ago, and it was one of the best times we ever had!!! The horses were in very good shape (a biggy to me too) and seemed to enjoy it almost as much as we did. I think there are two companies that do the horseback tour, one is Hooves and I can't remember the other but I think you'd be happy with either. Have a great time!!!!!
I keep a running list of the top ten experiences of my life, and believe it or not, the horseback riding in Ocho Rios is on that list. I have done beach rides at several resort locations but this one was exceptional because the horses really go out in deep water and swim!! There were perhaps 40 horses on the trail ride portion and then when it came time to take the horses into the water only 20 horses could swim so we had to take turns. Absolutely thrilling!! Would go to Ocho Rios again just for that experience.
