Re: World Cruise
That is our dream cruise! We plan on taking the cruise in about 10 years, unless the 401K gets even worse then what it has been. Packing and preparation would be our biggest issue. Are you taking the full 104 days, or just a partial?

Unfortunately, we're not doing either at this time. We look at world cruises every year.
I noticed that there appeared to be a lot of space available on the Amsterdam at this late date, however, my wife doesn't want to be away from family, friends, for 108 days. We've done 18 cruises, but never more than 16 days and we've never been away from home more than 30 days. Still, it remains a dream of mine, although I may have to settle for shorter cruises and more of them.
Thanks for your reply and here's hoping the stock market rally continues.
I took the World Cruise with HAL in 2001. And segments in 2000 and 2002. Loved it!!
I had to prepay all the bills that would come due before I left. That was tricky.
You can't cash personal checks or get cash from your credit card on board, only Travellers checks, so the first time I ran out of cash. You can use ATM's in ports.
The clothes packing wasn't too bad. During the day, everyone wears shorts or slacks - casual wear. I don't think it was overly dress conscious. There were dress-up nights and you saw people wearing everything. There are 2 or 3 laundries for the passengers to use.
