S priority disembarking and excursion disembarking
We are first time cruisers and have booked an S category suite for an Alaska cruise. We realize this provides for priority embarking and disembarking. We are also considering booking some port excursions on our own. I have read that those people that have booked excursions with the cruise line, because of schedules, disembark first at ports.
A few questions with all this considered:
Does the priority embarking priviledges superceded excursion embarking?
With itinerary stating arrival at 8 AM, at what time can we expect to be on the dock and ready to go?
With departure time at 6 PM, what time do we have to be back to board the ship?
Re: S priority disembarking and excursion disembarking
"With departure time at 6 PM, what time do we have to be back to board the ship?" You should be back at the ship by at least 5pm. "On Board" times should be posted when you leave the ship.
Never having been in a Suite, I can't answer your questions about receiving priority disembarkation for your own excursions. However, I would think that if the ship was docked you can get off any time you want. If you are tendering then ship excursions do have priority - check this out with the Excursion Office.
Re: Re: S priority disembarking and excursion disembarking
Last summer on the Zaandam only when we tendered did disembarkation priority come into play. The S category people and the people with early tours got similar priority "tickets" to go the the head of the line so to speak. It was a cinch. You'll have no problems.
Enjoy the suite...they're awsome! I still can't believe how large it was.....but the bad news? It's going to be very difficult for us on future cruises to go back down to "normal" sized cabins! : ^ )
