Depends on when you are going as I understand all the Alternate dining rooms are going to be changed over to Pinnacle restaurants in the near future and then there will be a $20.00 charge. Have now idea if this has been done on the Amsterdam or if and when it will be done. Right now I don't think there is a charge.
When we were on the Volendam at Christmas the Alternate dining room was the Marco Polo and no charge but now it is a Pinnacle and thus a charge. I understand that it is worth the $20.00 to eat there.
Sorry I was taking you to a post that I had already made, that was taking you to the HAL page with the links to what you asked for. So just go down to the Pinnacle Grill post and follow the links there, and that should help you.
Does anyone know if they will be charging for the Java Bar as well starting in April? I'll be on the Zaandam for the 4/5 cruise and have heard that the free specialty coffees will be no more when the Polo coverts over to the Pinnacle. I don't think the Pinnacle at $20 a head is a very good deal for a family of four with children that don't really appreciate the food. Will be kind of a bummer if they start charging for cappucino too, not that I'll drink it all that much.
Java Bar is indeed up and operating. Marco Polo is closing as we speak, to be replaced with a steak house and sur charge. Grousing staff claim Carnival influence.
No charge at the Java Bar that I know of. It seemed to be mostly expresso and a chance to sample exotic coffees. Little Indonesian girl will brew some stuff that will strip paint.
