Zaandam had an unlimited laundry and dry cleaning package. Cost was considerably higher than doing it yourself but something to look into. Was not mentioned in any of the literature that I saw. Could have taken three sets of skivies and one of each of everything else instead of the steamer trunk we packed. Will have our TA get the rate next time or phone the cruise line.
I only ever take one tux shirt with me. I have it pressed before the first formal, then cleaned and pressed after, so it's ready for the second formal. I think the pressing is $1.50 and the cleaning $3.00. Those prices are pretty in line with anywhere else on land.
Just got off the Veendam after two weeks sailing on her. The laundry specials are in the daily paper on the back page the first full day of sailing. We always use them but as a previous poster stated they differ from ship to ship. On the V the first week we used unlimited pressing, $15 per cabin per week, on the 2nd week we used the unlimited laundry $35 per week. Believe me, we got our moneys worth. On other HAL ships it has been all you can stuff in a laundry bag for $15 .......jean
My son and I sailed the Veendam a couple of weeks ago. We also used the heck out of the laundry deal! With a 15 year old who changes clothes at least 4 times a day, it was a great deal. Also super nice that someone else did the laundry for me.
Were you on our cruise when we had the 55 knot winds and 22 foot waves? We went March 29-April 6th. Wahooooo!!! It was amazing!!! What a fantastic captain we had!
