Default What will happen to the Staterooms on the Maasdam ?

.............I have booked my Cruise on the Maasdam sailing on 11/30/03 & have ascertained & accepted the fact that HA has " deleted " 1 port ( Grand Turk, Caicos Island ) from the itinerary & is scheduled to put the Maasdam in " drydock " for repairs at the end of October............however; the one concern that I do have is that I have heard that when the Maasdam goes in for drydock; the Stateroom Categories are going to be ' changed ' ( Whatever that is supposed to mean ? ) ??? Does anyone know what this ' change ' will involve ? What will happen to those of us who have already booked & paid for a specific Category ( which may not even exist after drydock ) ??? Don K.

Donald: I sure hope I read your message wrong as I just booked 2 seven day back-to-back cruises on the Maasdam, Oct. 26 and Nov. 2. Maybe I'll be cruising the boatyards in Lauderdale! My Personal Cruise Consultant (aren't I important?!) at HAL said nothing about drydock or no late Oct. cruises. Hmmm.....where did you hear there weren'g going to be late Oct. cruises?

The drydock is from 10/16-10/26. Obviously HAL is not going to be booking cruises when they have scheduled drydocks. These are planned at least a year ahead before cruise schedules are released.

The categories of some cabins, on all ships will change after 12/17/03.
Take a look at the deck plans for each ship on HAL's web site.

Go to HAL's home page. www.hollandamerica.com and click on "Five Star Fleet", then click on the ship you are looking for. You will see

Deck Plans - Cruises Before 12/17/03
Deck Plans - Cruises After 12/17/03

I think they will be elimninating some of the inside cabins on Navigation Deck....if they are putting in a Neptune Lounge.

We are booked for Maasdam back-to-backs in November and sure hope she will have a brand new Neptune Lounge. We're awfully spoiled from having it on other ships and really would like it on Maasdam.
