Default Veendam-Santo Tomas de Castillo

Are any of you taking the new Veendam itinerary this coming winter? Are you going to the Copan ruins? If so are you taking the ships tour which is extra expensive or are there ways to do it independently? I have always wanted to see the Copan Ruins and the photos on television look amazing but the cost of nearly $500 p.p. seems a bit steep given that our whole cruise was just over $600 p.p. for an outside cabin. It is hard to justify $1000 for 2 persons for a one day excursion.
