If all of you who are so obsessed with the bathrobes want to know the secret to getting a really great bathrobe for (almost!) free and you want to be able to take it home with you, then here it is: you need to book a passage on a World Voyage. At least that is the way it was back in 1998 when we were on the Rotterdam's Inaugural World Voyage. Very early in the cruise we went back down to our stateroom after a wonderful dinner, a small stopover in the casino and a great show and there on our bed were two nice, fluffy, terry-cloth bathrobes, adorned with the HAL logo and the words "Inaugural World Voyage" embroidered on the pocket area, all wrapped up in plastic ready to either unwrap and wear or to put in your suitcase ready to take home with you,. We brought ours home with us, despite the weight, but only because they had the words "Inaugural World Voyage on them. We use them all the time and they bring back many happy memories of a wonderful cruise. Notice that I said that we "went down to our stateroom" - we were not in a suite but simply a lowly "D" cabin but it is my understanding that every passenger on the ship got a souvenir bathrobe to take home with them.
Happy cruising everyone, whether you are reduced to bringing your own bathrobe from home or you find one is simply on loan to you. Oh what the heck, you are going to have a great time anyway so just relax and enjoy.
