Received final documents today for our mediterranean cruise. Leaving for a 3 night pre-cruise stay in Rome, before departing on a 10 day Mediterranean cruise aboard the Holland Americas Noordam. The cruise departs on September 23rd from Civitaveccia Italy with 8 stops ending in Barcelona Spain where we will have a 3 night post cruise stay. Sooo excited. We can hardly wait. This is our second cruise on Holland America. Our 1st one was on the Westerdam. Both older vessels, but thats what we like. We tryed one of the newer ones with Royal Caribbean, and even though that cruise was great also, we still liked Holland better. Any cruisers out there that have been on this type of a cruise, or this ship? Any bits on info to make our trip as enjoyable as possible will be appreciated. Here are our stops. Dubrovnik Croatia, Corfu Greece, Valletta, Malta, Palermo, Sicily, Mahon,Minorca,Spain, St.Tropez,France, Sete, France, and finally Barcelona.
We were on Noordam ship in Feb 2003 for a 14 days cruise. It is the oldest in their fleet. In sides are in good shape, lots of woods and reds and flowers thru out. Food and service were very good. We were in the southern carbs, so we had different ports.
The crew was great. The door man by the pool always had a great smile too. I made sure I tipped him, just for a great smile and opening the door for 1000 times.
We had the Cruise director sit with us (table of 8) at our table 3 times during the 14days. All drinks and wine were free the 3 nights. Why she picked our table ,who knows?
