Hi! Great to hear! Most of the posts about it was in November and on another web site.
Did you have a great cruise?

Yes, we had a great time. Ship was beautifully decorated with Christmas trees, poinsettias, each cabin door had an ornament on it and the dining room was all decorated for Christmas dinner.

You will love the Volendam - great crew and friendly service.

Hi that sounds wonderful! Always wanted to cruise at Christmas time, but too many grandchildren now. Hate to miss them at Christmas. We really are looking forward to cruisin Hal again. Another question.... do they still put on a pax show called Rockin Rollies ( or something like that!) We did it on the Zaandam and had a fantastic time. I was Bobby Darin doing "Splishin' and Splashin'". My wife was a grape in " I heard it thru the Grapevine". Just curious if they still put that on.
Thanks

I don't remember them having it at Christmas, but then again, they could have. When we were on the ship a few months prior to that they did have the show. Lots of fun to watch!!!

Three times in the last year. Also sailed on the old Volendam in 1981 - big difference!

Wow! Thats great. Wish we could cruise three times or more in a year. We really love it. What do you like so much about the Volendam and Hal that you would cruise on her a lot? On the Zaandam we loved the service, food and the cruise staff was fantastic. But, we decide to try Princess and Celebrity. They are good too, but had to come back to Hal. Can't wait to try out the mini suites. They sound so roomy!

"On the Zaandam we loved the service, food and the cruise staff was fantastic."

Same reason why we love the Volendam. Crew actually means more to us than the food. We are not picky eaters and enjoy our food- best of all I don't have to cook it. It's like "going home" when we see so many familiar faces.

Maybe when you get to our age, you will be able to cruise 3 times a year also. Keep saving! (wish they had those smileys on this board).

Have a wonderful time.

Hi again. You are so right. We are not very pickiy either and have loved the food on all our cruises..some more than others of course, but it is so great to be served such wonderful food in such beautiful surroundings by such fantastic servers! Holland really has been the best at that. We are so looking forward to it again!
Seems there are some peaople who really do make life a mess by being too picky and arrogant. It is amazing the stuff you read on this baord and cruisecritics. I do like the little smiley faces too.
How old are you guys if I can ask? We are 51 and 61. I am saving as much as my wife will let me!
She shops till she drops sometimes! But always for great deals of course!
