Last minute cruises
On my last couple of HAL cruises, I've met people who live in Florida who were able to pick up a real cheap cruise a few days before the cruise leaves.

Can anyone give me a website or name of a travel agency that deals with last minute cruises in Florida. Thank you.

Hi Dot
I like the web site Vacations To Go.
email them with your request at or call 1-800-338-4962

Re: Last minute cruises
I like Vacations to Go also.

I live in Florida and have not heard of anyone who offers last-minute cruises down here.
But I imagine if you have a good TA, and your time is flexible, he/she can probably hook you up with a great last-minute deal.

The good thing about living close to the ports is that you don't have to factor the airfare into the cost of the cruise!

Re: Re: Last minute cruises
We had a friendly, talkative taxi driver in Fort Lauderdale when we were on the Zuiderdam at the beginning of Aug. He told us that his wife calls the ship every Friday to see what the "deals" are; he mentioned that they get "lucky" every September because that is a slow cruise time down there. Since we flew into FL from CT, I didnt' ask him for more info; however, I'd imagine that the 800 number for HAL would have that kind of info - and if not, they *should* be able to point you in the right direction....Good luck!

Re: Last minute cruises
Just call the cruise line. I have done it twice the last year for a cruise out of my home port of San Diego. Press them for a deal about a week before it sails. They always have special prices, but you sometimes need to get the right agent at the cruise line.

I booked a 7 day Ryndam last March for $499 a person including all taxes and port charges. This was 5 days before the cruise. Our dinner table was made up of only passengers who booked late. One paid $488 total. We all got outside cabins too.

Last January I got a 10 day Mercury to Mexico for $749 a person total, all taxes and port charges included.

Re: Re: Last minute cruises is the place. But after you get your best deal from them call the cruis eline and I got a 7-day going to 4 ports on the Paradise last year for 329 pp! And we got 3 days on the Majesty for 199 a person and we each had our own outside cabin!

Re: Last minute cruises
September would be a good month to do it, since it's the height of the hurricane season here.
Many of us are leary of booking a cruise!
