I am planning on traveling with my todder in July on the Zuiderdam and would like to know if this ship has a children's pool. Some of the literature that I read says that it does and others don't seem to know of its existence. Any info would be appreciated.
I don't remember seeing a pool for children on the Westerdam (same as Zuiderdam) and on the other ships HAL has closed all the children's wading pools. I gather this was a health issue. They also do not allow children in diapers in the pools.
I too am booked to sail on the Zuiderdam with my twin 1 years and our family in May, 2005. This is our second cruise on the Zuiderdam. The ship does not have a kiddie pool, however the main pool has a sitting area with very shallow water that leads up to the pool. The sitting area is a surrounding the deep part of the pool, I figure that this is a place the kids can sit (OF COURSE WITH CLOSE PARENTAL SUPERVISION). Any more questions please feel free.
I believe children in diapers are not allowed into the swimming pools at all, with or without supervision from parents. It is a serious health issue and probably the reason why the kiddie pools were closed.
