The link above is to the article I wrote about a day in our Cabana on HAL's private island. I highly recommend the experience.

Can any recent visitor to HMC tell me if all the cabanas are now wood? We have the purple one booked for 7/17 and last summer it was one of the canvas sided ones. Did they change all them over to wood after the hurricanes of last fall? Thank you in advance for your help.

Pretty sure they are all now wooden structures. Also believe there are plans to add at least one more new cabana.

Steve... ENJOY !! A great way to spend a decadent beach day <G>

Don't bother with the butler package... unless you plan on drinking $250 or so worth of alcohol.

Kuki,
I very much enjoyed your article for the cabana, we have the sky blue cabana booked for our upcoming Zuiderdam cruise. How much would you recommend to tip the cabana boy. We like to tip well for great service, just looking for an idea?

Thanks,
Dibe67

Who knows what's appropriate! <G> But I'd say if there are 4 people using the cabana, around $10 /per person would be decent. If you get great service (which I suspect you will) maybe $50 for the day.

I gave Romeo $20 as soon as we greeted him at the cabana, then he got more later. As you could tell from the article, we couldn't have asked for better service!
