Re: Which side of the Zuiderdam faces the port in Port Everg
That my friend is a roll of the dice. Even the captain won't know that until the morning they come in from a cruise and he talks with the pilot about which berth they are actually going to be in for the "turnaround" day. Very rarely do ships in Port Everglades berth in the same spot all the time. The cruise lines will try to accomodate when possible but it all comes down to ship traffic and the direction of the pilots. This may seem like a dumb question but I'm curious....why?
Re: Which side of the Zuiderdam faces the port in Port Everg
I asked that same"dumb" question last year and I guess it was because I am a control freak and I wanted to know if my balcony faced the dock or the water, and to tell you the truth now I don't remember. We will be on the left side this year so***************
Re: Which side of the Zuiderdam faces the port in Port Everg
I wanted to know why for the same reason as another responder to this post, I really liked watching the ship being untied for when we left...kind of exciting.
Re: Which side of the Zuiderdam faces the port in Port Everg
I've sailed her twice - both times we were portside to the pier - making departure simpler - just moving away from pier, heading north, them coming right into the channel out to sea. It is my understanding that this is "standard" practice -- of course, standard practices were created so variations could take place.
