One week to go and still no cabin assignment.

One week from today, I will be sailing on Oosterdam out of Vancouver. I booked a VA guarantee and still do not have a cabin assigned. HAL tells me to call next Tuesday. Has anyone out there had an experience with booking a guarantee? When did you know your cabin assignment. I'm not concerned, just curious.

I too booked a guarantee VA on the Zuiderdam leaving this Sat. 4-30-05. I was assigned a cabin on Monday morning 4-25-05. We booked through a travel agent, however they never got back to me regarding my cabin assignment, so I called HAL directly.

Hi

We actually booked in cat. VF and we were upgraded to VA. I always found when booking with a "guarantee" I always got upgraded, it is usually an upgrade in location of the ship within the same type of cabin.

YOU WILL GET YOUR CABIN ASSIGNMENT WHEN YOU CHECK IN. YOU WILL
PROBABLY GET UPGRADED. DONT BE IN A HURRY TO FIND OUT.

I received my cabin assignment last Wednesday, exactly one week from sailing. I called HAL to get the info. Although, we were not upgraded, I am very pleased with our cabin....it is AFT and I love the AFT cabins.

Hi MaryLou,

I just returned from Zuiderdam and had booked a Guarantee. I did get upgraded. I found out my cabin number by entering in to onboard guests and filling out the customs form. I just put 001 as my cabin number and at the end of the process it showed my actual cabin number. You could try that way.

The cruise was awesome with quite a mix of ages which I found to be a nice surprise. All the staff were friendly and very helpful, they couldn't do enough for you. I found in general most of the cruisers were very happy too!
