Default Fort Lauderdale

We are planning on spending the night somewhere we between the airport and the cruise port in March 2006. Does anyone know of any clean, nice and reasonable hotels for one night in that area?
Thanks,
Joanne

Joanne - we stayed at Hampton Inn Suites in Hollywood last year and it was very nice. Great beds, free continental breakfast and shuttle to ship, although we always take a cab. We just can't wait for them to load all the paxs and their luggage.

We've also stayed at Embassy Suites, Pier 66 and Marriott Marina, but prefer the Hampton Inn Suites

Hi, My wife and I always stay over the night before the cruise. Last crusie was on the MS Volendam and we stayed at Pier 66. Rates are resonable. Asked for a lower level Garden room, you can walk accross the garden to the Bar and the Pool. Great Location.

I understand Pier 66 is going through renovations but don't know exactly what they are doing. Check out their website as I believe it mentions it there.

I wouldn't call Pier 66's rates "reasonable", in fact for the accommodation in the garden rooms, it's quite high & the Tower rooms even more expensive. We used to always stay there, but the last few times we did, we found the service and food in the coffee shop/dining room had gone downhill, so we started trying other hotels.

I agree with you DeeDee. We were in the Tower and the room was nice, but nothing exceptional and the bathroom, though beautiful at first glance, had such a small sink area it was annoying to use. Food in lobby restaurant was only so-so (and the restaurant was empty). We had no intention of walking outside a good distance to the main restaurant. A crazy set-up as the main dining room is outside the marina and not in the hotel. Liked the revolving cocktail lounge at the top of the Tower.
