How strict is HAL on their age restrictions? We are traveling with them for the first time this year and have a 20 year old who is accustomed to enjoying beer and wine on our previous RCCL vacations. Obviously we understand that she won't be able to purchase her own drinks, but are they very anal about IDing everyone in the party when alcohol is purchased? Our family does enjoy wine with dinner and wondered if this would be a problem. Thanks!
We just returned from the eastern carribean cruise on Dec 11th. As long as she is with the parents, she can drink. (However, I wouldn't try this while docked at a US port...) We had our 15 & 16 yr old children with us and they were able to try wine with dinner as well as some champaign at the Captain's Reception.
HAL punches a hole in the ID card of underage passengers, otherwise, no one in our party was ever checked for ID. As a matter of fact, my 15 year old daughter got a replacement card that was not puched because her first one quit working.
