My wife and sailed Zuiderdam on Dec 22, 05 I understand the ship had been in dry dock just prior to this cruise. I found the ship to be exceptionaly clean but did note that not all of the carpet had been replaced as workmen were installing carpet somewhere while we cruised.
However they did it without getting in the way of anyone. The ship was certainly up to Hal Standards. The beds were wonderful. As to the vibration issue, sometimes you could feel a vibration. I have felt a similar vibration on every ship I have sailed but it certainly is something one can live with. The Zuiderdam is a vista class ship meaning it is 20,000 tons more or less larger than most HAl Ships. I would never reject a cruise on a vista class ship in the future but if given a choice my wife and prefer the smaller ships. The vista ships do offer however a much larger spa/gym area and more room for activities for the kids and teenagers.
