San Diego Hotel & Parking

Leaving 3/4/06 on the Oosterdam from San Diego. Need a hotel where I can stay overnight, leave my car there for 7 days and get a shuttle to and from the ship.

We enjoyed our stay at the Best Western Bayside on Ash Street. We kept our car there, they have a free airport/port shuttle and they have a complimentary breakfast included. We watched the ship come into port at 6 am from our 9th floor balcony window. They even let our friends, who met us on cruise day, park their car there for the 8 days.

Another hotel would be the Holiday Inn on the Bay, located directly across from the port. Depending on luggage, you could walk to the port. We have also stayed at the Embassy Suites but they charged $20/day parking. We rented a car from Avis that time. Their return is down the street and they had a shuttle to the hotel. Embassy also has a free port shuttle.

We are also sailing the Oo on March 4th! This is our first Hal cruise.

We are staying at the Best Western Bayside Inn in S.D on Ash Street.
We've never stayed at this Best Western before, but understand they're o.k.
We are traveling by car...so will be using their extended parking too.

We've cruised and stayed at Hotels/Motels out of S.D. before, but they were farther out from the Port area. When we did this...we used the parking lot directly across the street from the Port. It's not covered but large and convenient.

What did the Best Western Bayside charge for parking?

Norm,
I think our hotel package was $120 for 8 days, covered parking lot and shuttle. This was 11/2004. They only charged our friends $10/day.

Our park and cruise package is $169.00 + tax!

The package still includes covered parking, shuttle and breakfast.

Hummmmmmmm seems to have gone up a bit from CA Cruisers 2004 package.

There are cheaper packages...BUT the Hotels are not as close to the Port.
Since this is really a quick cruise and we will not be visiting sites in S.D. we decided on the closest Hotel...

Where are you driving from? We're coming from Northern California..we drive cause I HATE to fly!!!!!
