I was on the Oosterdam and apparently as of two months ago have eliminated the unlimited soda pop card. I purchased a punch card for approximately $20.00 which entitled me to 18 glasses of pop ( not full cans).
I wonder if the other lines will go that route also. Maybe some of the reason for it was the folks who sent their kids to the bar for a drink and then ended up drinking it and sending them to a different bar immediately for another one. I've seen quite a few people abuse the cards.

Costing about 1 or 2 American Lincoln Cents per 8 oz glass..
Why would they limit consumption ?
Maybe Carnival Corp. the Parent now wants something else....but WHAT?

I bought the soda card the first time we cruised on Zuiderdam, but I found I hardly used it. So I just opted for iced tea the next cruise. Still, if you love soda, you can run up a tab real soon, I'll bet!

They aren't limiting consumption because of cost. They are going this route to make more money. Use your $20 drink card all up by day 4, and they can sell you another one. More profit for the shareholders.
We were on the Amsterdam in Feb and had no trouble with an unlimited fountain soda card. Because it was a thirty day cruise it was a bit pricey over $130 but worth it for all that.
When we were on the O'Dam last year we couldn't get unlimited cards either. I guess it's up to the HotMan or maybe it not available only on Vista class ships???
