If you don't mind, I'll tag along on this thread instead of starting a new one.
We are booked on the defunct CM "Penguins" cruise in Feb 07. I am considering dropping that one and taking a 23 day Thansgiving 07 Panama Canal cruise on the Ryndam.
Any comments on this ship an the cruise in general?
Are the "B" Veranda cabins worth the price? We have booked Princess on the last 3 crusies and the next two in a cat AC. How do they compare?

Irish shark, re your question, we have been in the lower priced verandahs on both Princess and HAL ships including Ryndam, and they are definitely worth it in our opinion, especially on a tropical cruise like the one you are thinking about.

Just got off the Ryndam it was our first cruise so I have nothing to compare it with. I will say everything was very clean, the staff was wonderful, the food was good. It was the perfect size ship for us, small but not too small.
My wife and I got of the "beautiful and elegant Ryndam" on April 2, 2006 after a 14 day cruise. The ship is excellent! Food and service is very good. Entertainment is good -- we've had better and worse. One thing, unless your TA springs for a "free" meal in the Pinancle Grill, save your money. I'm picky, but I thought the variety and presentatio0n of the food was better in the dining room. Pinancle service was top-notch, but the food was just there -- limited menu and on adequate presentation.
Whatever you do you'll have an great time, and will view your cruise expense as money well spent and money for which you received exceptional value!
Thank you so much for your replys on the Ryndam. We are scheduled for the 7/9 Alaska cruise and I can hardly wait! It is good to hear wonderful things about the ship as some of the older reviews trash it.
I am going on the cruise to Alaska on Ms Ryndam on July 2nd. I cant wait.. this is my first cruise and I have been looking forward to this since we booked it last October.
