Ship sails from Vancouver back to vancouver????
Hello
I do not fly, and want to go to Alaska this May 2007. Is there a way to do this besides booking reservations on two different ships ??? I want to take Holland America. Anyone have any suggestions. Thanks Bill |
Sure - HAL either 7 day cruises from Vancouver back to Vancouver or a 7 day cruise Vancouver to Skagway and then another 7 back to Vancouver.
Either get in touch with a travel agent or check out HAL's web site for ships that will be doing this route. go to www.hollandamerica.com click on Destinations, Alaska Cruises and then on the right hand side of the page go to Find a Cruise and check which ships will be doing the return runs. There's lots of them. |
Re: Ship sails from Vancouver back to vancouver????
Not sure of your point of origination, but you could drive or Amtrak to Seattle, then Seattle-Alaska (inside passage)-Seattle or (Amtrak and Sky Train or charter bus) to One Canada Place and Vancouver-Alaska (inside passage)-Vancouver with HAL. May is a discount month, but the weather can be misty/rainy. If looking to round trip to the interior, then up by a HAL cruise ship and back by another cruise ship or ferry is possible - ships don't roundtrip the interior and people tend to disembark and train up to Denali or do land excurions. Rumour has it that Alaska is nearly as big as Texas so excursions tend to take more than a day.

Sounds like you live in the Pacific NorthWest somewhere or certainly in the Pacific coast region; yes, you can do Van to Van.

There are a number of HAL ships doing 7 day roundtrip from Van to Van,
One is all sold out for 2007 . Volendam does two roundtrip from Van before repo to the carib for the winter. |
