Default coffee??

Never been on Holland America before & considering Zuiderdam. Loved coffee on Carnival Cruiseline on 3 different ships. Can anyone tell me if the coffee on Zuiderdam is good--I don't like weak coffee. Thanks

I found the coffee to be pretty good. It isn't Starbucks or Seattle's Best, but it's not made from a syrup as it is on Princess ships. You can also find wonderful coffee in the Explorations Cafe. You have to pay for it there.

If you occupy an S (Deluxe Verandah) or Penthouse Suite, you may get coffee and specialties such as cappucino in the Neptune Lounge.

I found the coffee to be a fairly good, fresh brewed, coffee. The best thing is the Explorations coffee bar is about the best of all lines. The coffee is superior to the Celebrity, Cova Cafe coffee, IMO and the prices are much more reasonable.

Take care,
Mike (Coffe junkie )

NCL has awful coffee Talked about watered-down brown stuff Having a good cup o' joe first thing in the morning is important to my well-being for the rest of the day

I'm taking it that since the Oo is a sister ship of Zui, that she'll have the same sort of caffein-kicker as the rest of the fleet? What a treat that'll be

That would be correct.

You'll enjoy the Oosterdam. She's a fine ship with one of the top hotel managers in the business -- James Deering.

The funny thing about NCL is that they have coffee makers in the cabins. I talked to Doug Ward (author Berlitz Guide) about that and he said it is the Asian influence, that they demand coffee makers in every room (also used to brew tea).

I have always found HAL room service coffee to be strong.

My husband enjoys espresso and has a double every night in the dining room after dinner......no extra charge.

We really love the coffee machine in the Neptune Lounge. As Jim notes, guests in "S" and "PS" have use of that amenity and the cappucino, lattes, espresso, coffees from that machine is great.

Believe me, Princess could probably give them a run for their money. The worst cup of java I've ever had was on the Island Princess ... in the specialty restaurant! Never tasted such sludge in my life.

HAL's coffee is fairly decent ... certainly on a par with what you could get at the local diner at home. And, as others have noted, if you want a really good cup of java, just go to the Explorations Cafe. You'll pay for it, but the price is very, very reasonable ... and certainly worth it if a good cup of java is important to get your day started off right!

Blue skies ...
