Default Tortola?

We've booked the Eastern Caribbean itinerary for Oct '07. The stop @ Tortola is from noon til 10:00pm. What is there to do there after dark? I just find it "different" to be in port until so late. Is there a good reason?
Thanks for any information you can share.

The reason the ship stays in Tortola until 10pm is because it's a short hop, skip and a jump to St. Thomas, which is probably your next port.

There's nothing to do in Tortola at night but there's lots to do on the ship. The ship may leave at 10pm but passengers have to be back on board by either 9 or 9:30pm.

Personally I wouldn't go wandering around any port after dark. JMHO

I agree. Caution is always a good practice. We are taking that exact cruise at the end of March. We plan to return to the ship, have dinner and proceed with other activities. Have fun.

hi
Just came back from this very cruise, you will need the extra time if you want to go on any excursions, we(wife and I ) stayed on the beach all day, its that good. enjoy the ship in port and see the town at night.

Pusser's Store & Pub is a very cool place to spend an evening. I've been there a few times and have always enjoyed it.

Great idea - have a couple of PAIN KILLERS and you'll probably miss the ship sailing to St. Thomas. Oh, well if that happens, you won't have far to travel to get to the ship the next day.
