one goes to the Spa to make reservations, the other goes to the speciality dining area to make reservations and we meet on the Lido deck afterwards for our pre cruise drink and snack prior to going to our cabin

drop off what we can in our cabins if ready and head for the buffet. After having a wonderful lunch we tour the ship from end to end and corner to corner. Depenting on the line, we might book reservations for the specialty dining rooms, decide if the spa is for us and head to the pool deck for a glance around and a drink. then it is back to the cabin before time for the boring life boat drill. Take a shower and a nap ... as soon as the cabin is ready. I usually travel to the port (generally flying) on the morning of the cruise ... after working a shift the night before. I'm tired since I've been up for about 20 hours by the time I hit the ship. If I don't get a nap, I'm no good for the first evening's festivities ... and frankly, I'd rather miss sailaway than dinner and the first evening onboard.

Blue skies ...

Head up to the buffet and eat our weight in everything. Then check to see if our cabin is ready and drop off our carry ons. And then go explore the ship, go pack to the cabin, unpack, and get ready for dinner.

I love sailaway, but I love the first night's dinner and show even more.

Sometimes we just have to make choices.

Take a self-guided tour of the ship. It's good to know what's where, if it is a ship we've never been on. It's much easier to navigate when there are fewer folks on board, or they are otherwise occupied.

We never go to sailaway. We have our own party on our balcony.

have lunch in the lido and tour the ship, waiting for the cabins to be ready. As soon as the annoucement is made we go to the cabin and, hopefully, get everything unpacked and put away before the life boat drill. I really feel that the vacation starts when the unpacking is done.
