Default Laundry on Westerdam

Does the Westerdam have a laundromat? If not, how much is laundry service?

Thanks.

The Westerdam doesn't have a laundromat. I think it was either $20 or $25 a bag on the Noordam to have laundry done. You can stuff quite a bit in those bags. A friend said they didn't get the stains out of her clothes though, so I'm bringing a stain stick on my next cruise.

Thanks for the info. I'll make a note to go pick up a stain stick - just in case...

Does anyone have any insight as to just why the Vista ships do not have a self-service laundry? I realize it is much easier to just send the wash out using one of those "stuff all you can in the bag" deals ... but some people just prefer to do their own. Wonder why HAL purposely left a self-service laundromat off of the Vistas?

Maybe it comes down to $. If you multiply $25 times the number of "stuffed bags", they'd be making more than the quarters in the washer/dryer would yield. It would be nice to at least be able to press some of the wrinkles out though.

I've always had my laundry come back pressed when I've sent it out in the stuffed bag. All shirts came back on hangers with nary a wrinkle in them.

I meant I'd like to press things that wrinkle despite my careful packing. I have no complaints about things that have come back from the ship's laundry.

Yeah, on a Vista ship, you're not gonna be able to do that. But, frankly, it's not easy to do even when the ship does have self-service laundry facilities. I can recall four times on my last cruise that my cabin mate was getting her outfit ready for dinner that night, found it to be wrinkled, and tried to go press it. There was always a minimum of one person ironing and two or three others waiting behind her. Each time my cabin mate wound up returning to the cabin, wrinkled outfit still in hand.
