Help thinking of switching from RCCL Jewel to HAL Westerdam?

We are thinking of the Westerdam for Spring of 08 or doing the RCCL Jewel again - but are looking for something a little bit more - we have a Westerdam - SY room on hold and a Jewel- D-1 - does anyone have any info on the Westerdam - pros and cons need to decide by Monday.

We have never been on the Jewell or any other ships other than HAL, but we have been on the Westerdam in an SY cabin and loved it. On that particular cruise we were in 8094. On the Noordam and Zuiderdam we usually take 6092 and have been very pleased.

SY cabins have double sinks, bathtub and shower stall in the bathroom - nice and large. The sofa will sleep a 3rd person - it doesn't open out like a regular sofa bed but somehow the cabin steward "flips" it to make it into a bed. DD said it was very comfortable. The beds are twins, but can be pushed together to make them into a Queen. Balcony is a nice size - lots of cupboard space and a desk and dressing table.

I've been on both ships, and think both are beautiful.

The Westerdam's cabins are substantially larger, and HAL's buffet food is substanially better.

RCI will be a "livelier" cruise experience, and median age on HAL will be higher. You'll find less families on HAL, as well as a quieter night life.

Both should be excellent cruises, so it really depends on your personal preferences.

I know that this reply is too late to help in your decision making, but, if you place a high priority on entertainment, RCI is a better decision by far.
