We are taking our seventh cruise, but first HAL cruise next month. We got lunch reservations at the Pnnacle Grill as a perc from our TA. Have heard good and bad about it. How about the lunch menu, I imagine it's differant than dinner, but do they have the chocolate lava cake everyone says is to die for?
I have no idea if they have the chocolate volcano cake at lunch in the Pinnacle as we have only had dinner there. I found the cake far too sweet for my taste but others love it.
Just talked to a friend who has had lunch in the Pinnacle and she said No, they don't serve it - only at dinner. She doesn't think it's that great either. Some love it, some don't. I think it's overrated.
We ejoyed lunch in the PG and paid for it, something of a novelty accourding to our waiter. I had one of the top 5 hamburgers ever. I was however, dissappointed that the fries were ordinary frozen varierty, as one finds at the outside grill area.
Given the burger, I passed on desert. I have heard that the lava cake is sometimes available at lunch, sometimes not.
Enjoy your lunch, which should be available on any at sea day, on your cruise.
Lunch in the Pinnacle is great and a really bargin even if you do pay for it. The normal menu for the lunch Pinnacle does not have the Volcano Cake. The Steak with Blue Cheese is wonderful also the French Onion Soup We almost always treat ourselve to lunch in the Pinnacle and will do so again in less than 5 weeks
Hammybee, what do most of the other diners do? Walk out on their check? I paid for my Pinnacle lunch via my shipboard acct.
Diva, I agree that the chocolate cake is overrated. Maybe it's because I just had a huge dinner, but I thought it was way over the top. I took a bite or two and that was it.
Lunch was half price was I had it on the Zaandam way back in 2004. It was OK, but nothing to write (or pay for) home about. Last year on the Volendam I got a free dinner from my TA. Again, OK, but I wouldn't pay extra for it.
