Default Renewal of Vows

Can anyone describe the atmosphere and ceremony for the renewal of vows on HAL? Thanks in advance!

I heard that it is possible to renew your vows on half moon cay on the beach. That would be something to look into. I could not imagine a better place than on the beach.

I would suggest that you get in touch with Ships Services,
1-800-541-1576 and they can explain everything to you and the cost.

There are some people over on another board who have Renewed their Vows on the ship, but obviously they are not posting on this board.

From what I know, it is held in the evening in a private room (have seen this done in a room that was closed off in the Crow's Nest), and is conducted by the Captain and is very well done.

I did find this on HAL's website under the Gift Order Form

1986Renewal of Vows (Flowers in stateroom, special
invitation to renewal of vows ceremony, complete with
hors d’oeuvres and beverages, certificate presented by the
ship’s Captain, dinner for 2 in the Pinnacle Grill, 6x8
photo and photo album).** $149.00

Renewal of Vows Guest (Witness your family or friends
renew their vows) $12.50 pp
Children under 12 yrs of ag e; children under 2 are free
of charge. $6.25 pp.

I'm more interested in a cruiser's opinion than the ship's. Thanks anyway.

Then, I sugggest that you do a search of other boards as I've seen a lot of them over there.

I think it is against the rules of this board to tell you which ones to search.

Sorry!

i was invited last year to a renewal ceremony on the zaandam. it took place after dinner in the explorer's lounge. there were several couples who 'renewed'. they came up separately, the captain read the little rite, pictures were taken, etc. champagne was served. it was quite nice.

Wish I could help you, but sadly I have no vows to renew. I'm single.

I have heard from others though that it's a very nice ceremony, conducted by the captain in a lounge, with your friends and family in attendance. You will participate in the ceremony with others who are also renewing their vows, but you will each do it separately. I think the ship's photographer is in attendance so that you can get photos of the event if you so choose.

As for Half Moon Cay, I am sure you can arrange to renew your vows (or even get married there). They have that lovely Bahamian church on the hill, and I can't imagine they would have built that if they didn't use it for such ceremonies. I have to admit, though, that in the three times I've been to HMC, I've never seen the church being used. Can't understand why.

Blue skies ...
