Default What is the pillow situation on the ships

You guys are being so helpful, we aren now starting to come up with a lot of last minutes questions. What kind of pillows do they supply on board and can you request any different ones. ie back or neck specific pillows.

I am not sure about the head and neck pillows but I know you can request down or foam pillows or extra pillows to accommodate you.

I sailed the Statendam after the Signature of Excellence upgrades and the pillows and bed were about the most comfortable I had slept on. The down comforter was also wonderful.

Take care,
Mike

The pillows are hypoallergenic and there is a selection.

We just returned from Maasdam and on our bed there were six pillows. Two soft, two medium and two firm. It was great to choose which we want as DH and I don't use the same firmness.

If you don't care for the pillows on your bed, speak with your steward and perhaps he can find what it is you want.

I agree with the previous two posts. I am VERY picky about pillows and most of the time when I travel I end up with neck and back pains but not on the Zaandam. I traveled to Alaska in May of this year and heard about the comfortable beds but really didn't believe it. I never slept so well the 7 days I was on board and believe me that is very unusual for me. I used the two feather pillows and how wonderful they were. I even bought them when I returned (you can buy the bedding online on the HAL site) so I can enjoy them every night.....

The choices Sails mention are available in suites and better only. If you are in the other type cabins you may have to tip to get a feather pillow. I have found all the pillows in all type of cabins to be great.

They have different kinds, made different ways ... AND, if you want more pillows just ask. I like to have 2 or 3 pillows ... Christopher likes a pillow with the thickness of a piece of paper, so on his bed he's got one thin pillow, and on mine I've got 3.
