Default Another Question about NEPTUNE lounge

We are still trying to decide on cabin category - DH says SY is fine unless Neptune lounge has wi-fi connections. If it does he will spring for SA to have a nice quiet limited- access venue to go with his laptop while I am in stitching class. I went to the HAL website and it doesn't say that it does or doesn't. So, does anyone know if the Neptune lounge has wi-fi?

You can buy a package of 100 minutes for $55 plus a one time start up charge of $3.95.

A package of 250 minutes is $100 plus the same start up charge.

And the nice thing about having your own laptop with you is that you can compose all of your emails and other work offline, and only use those expensive connect minutes for actual downloading and uploading. Makes for a far cheaper internet experience.

The package that you buy is good in all the hot spots around the ship. We found an excellent connection in the Neptune Lounge.

Outside the windows of Explorations on Promenade Deck is hotspot. We've seen folks take their laptops out on that deck, relax in one of the great teak deck chairs and use their computers. How delicious is that? Sitting on Promenade, views of the sea and writing your e-mails??!

Sail,
You've just given me a great reason to bring my laptop on our Oosterdam Alaska cruise in May. What a way to catch up on work!

... normally I would say WHAT??? WORK ON A CRUISE??? But after booking the 2009 Australia/New Zealand/South Pacific cruise ... 65 days on the Amsterdam, I realize that there is no way I could ever do that long a cruise without having to do some work. But I would sure try to keep it to a minimum!

I'm not just gonna need to bring a laptop ... for writing ... but also a court stenograph machine in order to continue prepping for my RPR exam ... which I should be taking by early 2010. No way can I go without practicing for 65 days. Gosh, this stuff is gonna be so much fun to haul through airports.

Rita, I know - the words "work" and "cruise" don't go well together for me either, but on occasion I have to check on a client when I'm away and it would be more fun to do that while watching the sea from Promenade deck, than being here in my office .

65 days? I'm so envious - I can never get away for more than 10!

Some cruises DH has no choice but to tend to some work. Usually he does his best to avoid it but there are times........

I don't complain. That is what pays for those cruises. 8)
