Thanks

Look at the excursion brochure for the Half Moon cay section of the

Caribean/Panama Canal Book.

You don't need a brochure - you can look it up on HAL's website, either by going into the Shore Excursion e-Brochure or finding your cruise on the section "Find a Cruise" and then clicking on Half Moon Cay.

I've just done both and it doesn't look like they rent jet skis. I thought they did rent them because I have seen them there, but they are probably only used by the staff running HMC. Could be that it's a matter of liability that passengers are not allowed to rent or use them.

that's a possibility. Princess' staff uses them, but they are not for rent either. We were able to rent on NCL's island several years ago...not even sure if they still rent them.

I believe there is an excursion involving jet skis, but they are called Aqua Trax. I believe they are the same thing though.

You can read a description of the excursion here:

https://www.hollandamerica.com/pdfs/...2008WCarib.pdf

Holland America has all of its shore excursion booklets online, most in PDF format.

Blue skies and happy reading!

You're right, Rita. The Aqua Trax is the same as a Jet Ski. I didn't realize this until I Googled Aqua Trax. Goes to show you what I know. !

So there you go NanaShrek - you can book this excursion on line now to make sure you have one when you get to the island. If by any chance the ship can't get into HMC, which oftens happens, your money will be refunded by the Shorex Dept.

Have fun!

Thanks for the help finding my answer! Just looked it up on their website...$59/pp for 1/2 hour ride is a bit pricey though. Last time I rented one it was $80/hour for 2 people - can't remember where it was, somewhere in FL I think.

I hear that HMC is the best of the private islands...can't wait to decide for myself!

Thanks again.

Trust me, you won't be disappointed.

I call Half Moon Cay a little slice of heaven right here on earth. That's how nice it is.

Blue skies ...

You will love half moon cay. I have been there a few time and will be there next month. You have to try the horse back riding. there nothing like it riding in the surf.

Nana - I just heard that HAL is getting a new fleet of jet skis for HMC.
I know you will be happy to hear that.

Have fun!

The problem with the aquatrax (waverunner/jetski) excursion is that it is a group tour sort of thing. You pretty much ride around the island in a group and you never really have the oppurtunity to really open them up and have some fun out in the ocean or in waves. All in all, I found the excursion to be pretty lame for what it costs. You'd be much better off to seek out waverunner rentals on some other port of call.
