Default "Mariner" buttons

Anybody wear 'em?

I read on another thread that the cruise lines may treat repeat customers a little better.
Without debating whether this is 'wrong' or 'right' I just wanna know if it's true.

Should we wear the buttons?

If you mean those big buttons that sometimes come with your Docs, then no, they don't mean a thing & I doubt you would be treated any differently if you were wearing them or not.

I throw ours in the garbage as soon as we receive the Docs.

- I'm sure you will see some of those on the ship. ROTFLMAO.

and you will see some who wear their Mariner Medallions either around the ship during the day or at dinner at night.

Mine go into the trash. I sort of laugh to myself at the people wearing those big medallions,,,sort of silly IMHO. Reminds of some kind of old movie wear the "Prince of Whatever" walks around showing off medals and wearing medalions to prove how important he is. Although I think if you have luggage tags that say Mariner on them your bags seem to get to your cabin quicker.

We don't mean the Mariner pins that you get for 25, 50, 100, etc. days. We are talking about the big ugly metal Mariner buttons that sometimes come with your docs.

We wear our Mariner pins, sometimes. I have all mine on the ribbon of my Silver Medallion. Gold is not far off!

Usually you wear your pin at the Mariners party. I wear my 50 day pin
only the mariner party. its the new ones that like to show off their
button.

To be honest, I don't think wearing the button is gonna get you treated any better. After all, on the average HAL cruise about 70% of your fellow passengers will also have the buttons.

Maybe on a cruise line like Carnival, wearing a "past passenger" button might have a desirable effect, but on HAL ... where a great percentage of the passengers on each sailing are repeaters ... it's not gonna matter a whit.

Blue skies ...

Take the pin out, glue a doughnut shaped magnet from your local hardware store on the back of the button and viola! - now you can stick your favorite cruise pix to the fridge.

I have a 100 day lapel pin from HAL that I occasionally wear, to Mariner parties and quite proudly too.

There was a lady at our brunch with over 800 days with HAL.
No, not a crew member!

I can't see anything wrong wearing your your buttons or pins or medals.
usually you see people wearing them at the mariner party or on formal night. If you have them- wear them
