We've made a 1-night dinner reservation for a special night in the Pinnacle. I've heard some choose the Pinnacle for breakfast/lunch since it's more quiet. Thoughts?
Makes sense! I thank you for letting me know.
Next time I might just consider the deluxe verandah..we
are now booked into an SY (the superior) but obviously
the deluxe has additional perks!
The Pinnacle is only open to PH and S/SA/SB/SC guests for breakfast.
We have never had lunch in the Pinnacle, but I can't see it being any quieter at lunch than it is at dinner. It's just cheaper !
I think the Pinnacle is only open for lunch on selected sea days. It is open to anyone who cares to pay the surcharge. For breakfast though, it is only open to people staying in the Penthouse or one of the deluxe veranda suites. I don't believe there is any charge for them to enjoy their breakfast there.

No, there is no charge for breakfast for those guests who have the privilege of having breakfast in the Pinnacle.
You'll really enjoy SY on the Oosterdam. You'll also enjoy The Pinnacle Grill. We always dine there at least once a cruise (always for dinner) and we've never had problems with noise. btw, I hate noisy restaurants, so I would have noticed this.
I appreciate your input! Since this is our very first cruise...we are world travelers, but this is the 1st time I've convinced DH to go on a cruise and of course, Alaska was the determining factor...we (at least I) am particularly enthused. At any rate, we did make reservations at the Pinnacle the first night and we are looking forward to a great 20th anniversary!

As an added note, I don't believe the Pinnacle is open for lunch everyday ... just on certain sea days. The other days, the only available choices will be either the dining room or the Lido.
