Half Moon Cay is a day in paradise...blue/green perfect water, and a lunch that will make you want a nap, soon after....
Aruba is an arid island....not much going on there., but I love it.Charlies Bar is a local and tourist bar, that has been on tv..Casino's if you gamble, and Palm Beach is a nice take in too...nice shopping....and people.
Curacao, is an interesting island, Historic synagogue, pastel narrow Dutch style main street, an amazing floating bridge, and an all round nice day..don't miss the liquor tastings:)
None of the above are, anything at all like Jamaica!

Well, we're doing this same itinerary on Westerdam this coming April for the third straight year in a row. That should tell you something. We've cruised all the mainstream cruiselines (RCI, NCL, Carnival, HAL, Celebrity, Princess). Our two favorites are HAL and Celebrity, with Princess a closes third.
We love this itinerary and it's unique to find a ship that does a southern Caribbean cruise in 7 nights from Florida. That's what attracted us the first time. And we loved it just as much the second time.
Aruba has lovely beaches and HMC is a wonderful beach day. Curacao has become one of our favorite islands. Very Europe-like. There are little cafes and shops and cobblestone streets. Nothing at all like Jamaica.
You are going to love this itinerary and this ship. The crew are the best!
HMC is a little slice of paradise. I can't say the same about Jamaica. I sailed to Aruba and Curacao on a 10-day Southern Caribbean cruise on the Volendam. Aruba is very cactus-y; didn't especially care for it. I loved Curacao. It's like being on a street in Amsterdam. I took the historic trolley tour which was excellent. Afterwards I toured the synagogue with the sand floor, checked out the floating market, sat in an outside cafe and drank an Amstel, and walked across the moving bridge back to the ship.
I'm booked on the 7-day Westerdam cruise that leaves Dec. 6, 2009 and visits HMC, Aruba, and Curacao, so I must have enjoyed myself.
