Default LA-Vancouver - which side of ship?

Looking at doing Zuiderdam LA - Vancouver + Alaska. Have been told port side for Alaska (Glacier Bay, etc)., but am wondering about LA - Vancouver, as it seems Starboard would be the choice for that leg.

thanks!

Going from LA to Vancouver you will be so far out to sea that you won't see anything, so to me it really doesn't matter which side you are on - port or starboard. It's different in Alaska - you are close to shore most of the way north or south.

We have done this trip a few times and it was so foggy that the fog horn was going most of the time and visibility was nil.

I went from Vancouver to LA and choose the port side just for that reason and there is nothing to see, well there is water to see. So it may just be a matter of do you want the sunny side in the morning or the eveining.

Just back from Alaska. It didn't matter which side your on.
Most days are in port and when you tour Glacier Bay , the captain
will rotate the ship so that both sides get a view. If you miss something going in , you probably will see it going out.
