Default Shore excursions in Eastern Carri. suggestions?

We will be on the Eurodam this fall, taking the eastern car. 7 day cruise out of Ft laurderdale. Any suggestions on the shore excurions at Grand Turk, San Juan, St Thomas and Out island in Bahamas? Any tips on what we should see or pass on. Thanks!

On Grand Turk we really enjoyed the hop-on-hop-off bus. Gives you a good chance to see the island on your own pace.
On Puerto Rico we did the Forrest tour which was somewhat disappointing: 1.5 hours up, 1.5 hours down and only an hour in the forrest.
On St. Thomas we did the island tour that goes up to Paradise point and did the Peter the Great house. We loved the house but would advise not to do the Paradise Point. Yes the view is nice but we didn't like the 2 hour wait for the tram to take us up.

Good luck

The "out island in the Bahamas" you speak of is actually HAL's private island.

Sample shore excursions: Horseback Riding by Land and Sea; Deep-sea or Flats Fishing; Stingray Adventure; AquaTrax Watercraft Adventure.

We just rent a clamshell and spend the day on the beautiful beach soaking up the sun and enjoying the cool blue/green water.

DD did the "swim with the Stingrays" when we were in Grand Turk and had a great time.

St. Thomas - if this is your first time there, I would do a tour of the island in the morning and then shop in the afternoon if you want. HAL ships dock at Crown Bay where there are a few stores (not very good)... most people go downtown to shop - lots of taxis to take you there. Just remember to be back at least 1 hour before the ship leaves. Many times I have seen people running down the dock as the ship pulls away.

Have no suggestions for Puerto Rico. We have been there so many times, that we just stay on the ship now.

In St Thomas, walk off the ship, and grab a tour bus, and do an siland tour..it's so nice to see the lay of the land....they will take you to all the highlights, and drop you off back in town ot shop....By the ship, there is more shopping at Havensite Mall...

I will be in Turks and Caicos for the first time in Oct....In San Juan, you can take in the forts, Hard Rock Cafe..if the ship is in port longer, go to El Junque, the rain forest, o,r and island tour as well...

Grand Turk:
No excursion or taxi necessary. Just walk off the ship and enjoy a great beach day including MargaritaVille. Chairs and umbrellas at no charge but be early for the umbrellas. 8)

TRIP - HAL rarely if ever docks at Havensight any longer. They now dock at Crown Bay and the shops there aren't very good there.

Havensight has much better shopping - I miss having the ship docking there - it was so easy to walk to all the shops.

deedee, thats too bad, because for many, with limitations, it was not a bad walk off the ship to shop, and back on.....on the Zuiderdam, in 05, we docked at Crown Bay, and they were just building all the shops....it's too bad it's not up to par, but, I bet for many stores, some having one shop downtown, and in Havensite, opting for a 3rd, may have been out of the question. I love the little flea market by the cab stand
