This Oct my husband and I will be sailing out of Ft lauderdale on the Eurodam. We will be driving down from Atlanta and plan to spend several days touring the area. Any suggestions on hotel/motel arrangements and what is a "must" see while down there. Thanks!

There are a number of hotels that are close to the port. The Renaissance, Pier 66 and the Marriott are just a few of the four star hotels. There are a number of others.
Some of the fun things to do are: Take a cruise on the waterway and view the city and the beautiful homes; Go to the The Festivale, in Pompano; Eat at Catfish Dewey's or many of the seafood restaurants in the area. I know others will have more ideas.
Take care,
Mike

We'll be doing approx. the same when going to the Noordam. Since the Ft. Lauderdale area is very expensive we will take 3 days to drive from ATL-airport to Fort Lauderdale. We will spend the night in Tifton, Ga, Melbourne, FL and Plantation, FL (sheraton suites $99).
Last time we stayed in the FLL Embassy suites which is $319 now (ouch).
Difference is we do not need to see the area around Ft. Lauderdale as we've seen that last time.
This time we'll do some shopping, some more shopping and then some shopping. We're from Europe and with $1.40 against the Euro, everything is a bargain for us.
Last time to see the everglades. Took a boattour in Everglades city, a bike ride at Shark valley which was nice.
After the cruise we went to see Key West and the Keys.
There's a lot of stuff to find on the internet if you google on FLL and tourist. Have fun.
