Collecting Cruise Day credits is simple. For each day cruised, we’ll add one Cruise Day credit to your account. You’ll also earn bonus Cruise Day credits based on your onboard purchases. You’re automatically registered in the Mariner Society when you book a cruise, you’ll start earning rewards after your first Holland America Line vacation and your Cruise Day credits will never expire.




Star Mariner
Every guest that joins us for any Holland America Line cruise returns as a Star Mariner. It’s our way of saying Welcome Back, and you’ll start feeling the special treatment as soon as you come aboard. Star Mariners receive:


A special invitation to the Welcome Back Embarkation Brunch in the dining room as well as a complimentary Mariner Champagne Brunch
A special collectible gift presented to you on board
A free subscription to the print or digital* version of Mariner magazine

2-Star Mariner
Collect 30 Cruise Day credits and you’ll be elevated to a 2-Star Mariner, which entitles you to:

Not impressed, especially when I have no use for 90% of the awards they are offering.

I'm very disappointed that they are discontinuing the medals as we would have recevied our 500 day medal on our next cruise. We've worked hard and spent a lot of money to get this far.

Got some good news today.

HAL has decided, after I am sure being swamped with many complaints, to reinstate the 300, 500 & 700 day Medallions.

I am sure there will be a lot of happy Mariners.

I saw an announcement on HAL's Facebook page that Medallions have been reinstated.

I'm happy not only they decided to keep the Medallion Program but am especially happy they listened to the many comments Mariners made about wanting to keep the Medallions.

Thumbs up in both regard.

And for those of us who have 90 plus days (just short of a 100)...another pin instead of the copper medallion. Good thinking HAL!
