Default Eurodam food

Hey, guys.
We will be sailing the Eurodam 10/17/09.
This will be my first cruise with HAL since 1998 on the Veendam.

I was wondering how you all are enjoying the 'Signatur of Excellence" touches. And how has the food been? I know the service will be impeccable. Has anyone sailed the Eurodam recently?

Thanks,
clay

We sailed last Easter and the food was great.

We sailed last March and the food was excellent, especially the food in the Tamarind restaurant where we dined twice.

We'll be back again at Xmas and are looking forward to dining in the Tamarind and trying out the food in the Canaletto. Dining room food was also very good.

I was on it when it was new (4 weeks old) and it was fabulous.

One night they had a filet and shrimp meal. I don't eat shrimp. I asked the waiter to hold the shrimp part. He did. The a minute later he arrived with another plate with a sizzling filet on it. He said if I didn't mind I could eat the second one too. So I ate both. When I was done he came up to me with a covered dish and set it on the table. He uncovered it to show to more sizzling filets and told me the chefs discovered they had too many filets and needed help getting rid of them and would I mind. I didn't mind a bit. I still call it the night of 4 steaks!

Did you waddle out of the dining room that night, Ron?

Bet you had to unbuckle your belt or were you wearing pants with an elastic waist?

I actually have 3 pairs of dockers I call my cruise pants. I wear a 36 inch but these expand to 37 when needed. Two nights later was crab legs and he brought 2 extra plates of those. But since I don't eat seafood I had to assign designated eaters at my table.

Funny thing is I do eat 3 to 4 times my normal daily amount on a ship, not to mention the adult beverages, but I never gain weight. I guess taking grueling shore excursions and doing trips around the deck on sea days helps.
