Welcome to Cruise Mates!

You're asked a very open ended question. My first cruise was to Alaska on HAL back in 2001, and I've been cruising ever since.

You'll experience one of the best crews at sea, comfortable beds, great food, and a more refined, traditional cruise experience. Alaska is a unique destination.

Welcome... what did you expect when you decided on a cruise & booked it?

Hi MCL , My first cruise with HAL was on the Zuiderdam to Alaska ( round trip from Vancouver ) . It was a truly enjoyable cruise , not just with the excellent service and food on board , but with the 3 ports of call and Glacier Bay as well as the breathtaking views of the Inside Passage cruise . You should bring warm clothing , especially when you are admiring the natural setting from the promenade or observation decks . Don't forget to bring your cameras ( still & video ) as you will appreciate bringing back fabulous shots/scenes even on the days when you may experience " liquid sunshine " ! Lane
