Hi,
We're taking an Alaska cruise on the Rotterdam in September. I don't want to carry a laptop, I have Droid Eris that will work in a pinch.
Does the ship have internet ready computers that guests can use. I guess we'd have to pay a fee use them as it seems like nothing is free. (I was suprised to see an $11 PP per day cabin cleaning charge being charged now.)
We don't plan to do much surfing just checking e-mail.
Thanks for your help.
Yes, you will pay a hefty fee for Internet service. I found it really wasn't worth it just to check a few emails, etc. besides you're on vacation!
As far as the $11/pp daily charge is concerned, this charge includes the cabin attendants, dining room attendants and other ship personnel. They earn every penny, believe me!
Thanks for your reply. I don't think we'll use the computer very often.
I agree the staff work hard for their pay but that was part of the cost of the cruise the last time I sailed. Seems like one more attempt at a back door charge, I say raise the cruise price by $154.

Looking forward to the cruise. Thanks.
Don't know when the last time you cruised, but these charges have been in effect for some time now. Now, everything is extra...drinks, photos, bingo, special dining rooms, etc. Your travel agent should have made you aware of the "extras" when selling you the cruise.

Yes there are plenty computers on the Rotterdam IV in the Library, kinda slow to get connected though, cost is another issue. I was lucky to get a 2 hour freebee from my agent.
