Cupcake Tea? Dress Code for Afternoon Tea?

I just read on another board that HAL has a Cupcake Tea?

OMG My daughter will be in hog heaven. She's only 5 but her favourite show on tv is Cupcake Wars. She's obsessed with cupcakes (not eating them, but making them and gushing over how pretty they are).



As I'm starting to pack now .... what is the dress code for afternoon tea on HAL? Would a change of clothes be warranted? Or would attire suitable for lunch in the MDR be appropriate?

That is really cute about your daughter. I realy hope she gets to see the Cupcake Cupboard on Royal Caribbean someday. The line has cupcake decorating classes as well.

Tea is technically not a formal affair, but it is a good idea to show some respect and not wear shorts, t-shirts, sandals or flip flops. However, if you don't have time to change go anyway, it's OK.

If your daughter doesn't mind dressing up why not use it as an opportunity for a little lesson in one of society's most time honored pasttimes? I am sure the other guests would enjoy seeing her a lot.

I just googled Cupcake Cupboard. Is it just on Oasis? We'll definitely have to plan another RCCL sailing!

Right now I am sure it is on Oasis and Allure, but I know it is also coming ro Freedom and Liberty soon. It may be coming to a lot more RCL ships within the next couple of years.

I've not heard of a Cupcake Tea, but I have not been to all the afternoon teas on HAL. The dress seems to be whatever you are wearing during the day. I usually wear capris, which seem to go anywhere. I think this is a lovely way to spend the afternoon with your daughter. We leave on Sunday on the Ryndam and are looking forward to our trip!

Thank you for the compliment about my daughter! That would be great if goes to the other ships, because I'm not really in a rush to sail Oasis/Allure. I really want to try a Freedom class.

I'm not sure I'll post pictures here ... we'll see! Would a little girl be permitted to wear an Easter-style bonnet in the MDR?
