We are at this moment working with Travelguard on our claim for the illness I had in Cambodia. They are being excellent about it.
They have paid promptly for the extra hotel days and meals for wife while I was in the hospital, and while I was recuperating. We just sent off the paperwork for our lost tour in Bangkok but that will be covered too.
The worst part of it is that we have to file with Medicare, who we know will deny it, and get the denial back before the trip insurance will pay the hospital bill.
Incidentally, at the Royal International Hospital in Siem Reap (Angkor Wat) I spent 2 days in ICU and one more recuperating in the ward, had wonderful medical care from staff that were not only well trained and professional but also friendly and polite, and the whole bill, hospital, doctor, medicines and everything came to less than $7000!
