I chose the Yukon/Denali tour. Just got home Saturday. The cruise was only three days and the land portion ten+ days. It was great fun. I liked the Zuiderdam very much, wish I had more ship time. The tour included nights in Skagway, Whitehorse, Dawson (2), Fairbanks, Denali (2), and Anchorage. The highlights were: White Pass railroad, Gold Mining, Pub Crawl in Dawson Saloons, Alaska Railroad, Denali Tundra Wildlife Tour, and River Rafting in Denali. Long tour, but loads of fun. I have a review and photos on my blog if anyone is interested.

It was a few months before the Magic cruises, so you just have to back up to previous page. The link should be at the bottom of each page to go to older page.

Was the land part hosted by HAL? Or did you book that totally separately?
What was your opinion of Fairbanks ? I did not find it appealing . Anchorage was good for souveneir shopping but not much more .I loved Denali ,it was magnificent. Did you take home the gold you mined ? I have mine .

Fairbanks was OK for it's extreme location north. Did the gold mining near there and yes I kept the gold.
I liked Anchorage...lot's to do there. Good food. Great museum.

It was great fun, Mike. I find myself watching all the Alaska shows on Discovery, History Channel, et al. I like Gold Rush now, they were filming it when I was in Dawson. I did the gold mine tour there as well.
Also, do you remember the tour number of the cruise? HAL has several 11-14 day cruise/land choices and it is hard to distinguish one from the other. Thanks! Glad you had a great cruise!

I think the particular one Snooze and I took is pretty much the only one that features 3 days cruising and 10 or so on land. Most of the other 11-14 day tours include a 7 day cruise and tour afterwards.
When we took it the number was 13, AIRC, but that may change from year to year. Look at the itinerary, not the number. If you see Tok and Eagle in there, that's the one!
