Just back from the October 9th 14 day cruise. Surprise, surprise - when we boarded we found we were in a construction zone with yellow caution tapes blocking areas of the ship, elevators and stairwells from day to day, at all hours. Constant dust and noxious fumes from adhesive and new carpeting throughout the ship. No prior notification, or reduction in fare from HAL. Breakdowns of machinery caused long delays in ports which prevented calling in at San Francisco on the return trip. Most disappointing. I have always been a booster of HAL as my favourite line. Have 120 days with them. But it appears their policy is now to undertake this type of work during cruises - not in dry dock. No more for me! A most disappointing, long looked forward to, cruise!
Wow, I would imagine that to be pretty bad, something they should of done in dry dock. Sorry you had such a horrible expierence, but there are other lines you may enjoy, may-be look into Princess Cruise Lines?
