A friend of mine returned from a Westerdam cruise in late january of this year.
He was disappointed to find out that besides an imitation "B.B. King" band, there was no dance band on the ship. They did have the ship's orchestra but not a separate band for dancing anywhere on board that ship.
Is that possible? Is that true for other H.A. cruises?
hi i've seen it on other ships that some don't have the what they are called 'party bands'. It does depend on what HAL ship your on. I know that on the smaller ships they don't have the b.b king but instead have a 'party band. So all in all it just depends on what ship your on.
In general, the Holland America ships I have been on do set aside time for dancing to the "show band" orchestra before dinner. In fact, many HAL ships have the ability to remove seats in the main theater to reveal a dance floor, and dance time is about an hour most nights before dinner - unless they need to play for a big show that night.
