We stayed at the Hyatt. You don't want to stay near the pier. Call the Acapulco Hyatt directly for their best rate. Book your own hotel and air if at all possible. The savings will be worth it. We also had the conceirge make dinner reservations at the Cuyoba 22. It is a lovely cliff side restaurant in Acapulco. A little pricey, but worth your one night stay splurge. Take a taxi tour too so you can see the local sites including the cliff divers.
Thanks for the info, however we had already made reservations at the Plaza Las Glorias El Mirador, where the cliff divers perform. Do you know this hotel? The pictures left a little to be desired, but the price was right.
Yes, from witnessing the Cliff Diver's only. I would refer to it as a quaint Mexican hotel on the cliff. Hope you at least get a balcony or window overlooking the divers many shows per day. You will be near TAXCO which is a Silver Factory store. I certainly spent a lot there, but did not find any bargains. Other than that, you are at the wrong end of the city for the hotel zone, walking and shopping. You may wish to keeping checking and especially the ratings. I am not a prude, but there are some rough areas in Acapulco. The beach closest to there is not a place you would want to go. What did they quote you for price? Often times contacting a hotel directly you can get a better price.
We did call direct and the price is $182.52 for a two nite stay. We requested a balconey with ocean view, but they couldn't guarantee we would get one, even with an upgrade in price.
Aside from being concerned about money, my husband is a history buff, and his idea is that we could walk to and explore Old Town, as we did in San Juan Puerto Rico. Now, I'm not sure it is a good idea.
Thanks for your help.
