I've been reading the threads where people have booked the Hilton Hawaiian Village for pre and post cruise stays in Hawaii. The Hilton Hawaiian Village is a large and beautiful property, but somewhat expensive. We just returned from a convention held at the Hilton Hawaiian Village, but for our accomdations, we elected to stay directly across the street at the Holiday Inn Waikiki. The room we had was spacious and very comfortable and we saved a lot of money! The staff at the Holiday Inn Waikiki was extremely courteous and helpful. We noticed that a number of airline crews were using that hotel, too. When we needed to go to the Hilton for convention meetings, we merely walked across the street. If you are thinking about pre and post cruise hotels in Honolulu, you might want to consider the Holiday Inn Waikiki as an alternative to the higher priced Hilton. And try the Wailana Coffee House across the street from the Hilton and down the block from the Holiday Inn. Best down home cooking we've eaten in a long while and the prices were very reasonable. Hope this helps! Enjoy your cruise!
