Default How far in Advance to book through Priceline/Hotwire

I am new to this, so please bear with me! How far in advance should we book a hotel for a pre-cruise night? We are cruising in April, and driving down to Miami the day before the cruise.

Thanks!

Thank you! Just a little apprehensive. Have never used hotwire or Priceline, and am not sure what to expect.

Well here is a thread on that topic:

You should browse around the above site a bit as it will help you with the whole Priceline/Hotwire process. If you have a question, just post as to what you're looking for and they'll help by providing a strategy and/or suggestions as to the best way to proceed.

I've done priceline a month beforehand and got what I wanted and other times I've used them only 1-2 wks before hand and got what I wanted. I start about 3-4 wks prior to leaving and if I get that bid I want then great, if not I can rebid and try again later.

Have booked Hotwire as far out as October 2004 (Wyndham Miami Airrport for $49 and Priceline for February - Winter Break in Orlando.

In regards to Ft Lauderdale, people have said they were able to get $82 for the Renaissance (Priceline 4*) and $70 for the Sheraton Yankee Clipper (Hotwire 3.5*).

Also, don't forget to sign up for the hotels frequent guest programs. Show your card at check-in and you may just be pleasantly surprised! While there may be notices everywhere that says hotel programs are not applicable to PL/HW bookings, I recently stayed at the Sheraton in d/t Miami and was upgraded to a corner balcony on the Starwood floor, just by showing my card at check-in. It never hurts
